Protecting Your Birmingham Home From Damaging Termites

Termites may be active in every state except Alaska, but here in Alabama, they are especially busy. Our hot, humid summers and mild winters provide the ideal climate in which termites can thrive, and they take full advantage of our weather to do just that.

Any Birmingham home without protection against termites is susceptible to an infestation. Once they get inside, usually without your knowledge, they’ll start damaging the wooden structures inside, including the ones that hold your house up.

If your house has no protection against a termite infestation, or if you have reason to believe that termites may be in your home, it’s time to contact Superior Pest Management. Our termite control services will eliminate active termites and prevent future infestations from occurring. For full, effective, and guaranteed termite protection, Superior Pest Management is the pest control company to call.

Our Termite Control Process

Free Inspection

Our service begins with a free and thorough termite inspection. We’ll talk with you to find out if you’ve noticed anything out of the ordinary and to get a history of your property. We’ll then look for any signs of termite damage, old or new, as well as signs of current termite activity and conducive conditions that may attract termites to your property. With our training and experience, we know where to look and what to look for to determine if termites are already a problem on your property.

Treatment

We offer two types of termite control treatments: Bait systems and liquid termite treatments.

Our termite bait system includes the installation of bait stations every 10 to 12 feet around the perimeter of your house. The bait station system components are installed into the soil, making them readily available to termites but out of the way of children and pets. If termites are on your property, they will find the bait and alert other termites to its presence. They will also bring it back to other members of their colony. Eventually, the bait makes its way through the colony and eliminates the entire thing.

For our liquid termite treatment, we’ll go into your crawl space, drill into the block, and treat the interior of the block. We’ll also perform a trench and treat service inside the crawl space and around the outside perimeter of your house. This service involves digging a trench in the soil, applying treatment inside the trench, and refilling it.

We also offer a concrete treatment. We’ll drill into the concrete every 12 inches during this service, apply the termiticide into the holes, and then fill them back in.

Follow Up

Our termite bait system includes follow-up visits every 90 days. We’ll return to your property every 90 days to check the bait stations and refill them if necessary. All of our termite treatments include a five-year warranty. This warranty is renewable and transferable.

Pre-Construction Termite Treatments

Before you build a home, you’ll want to consider if a pre-construction termite treatment is right for you. Since termites infest over 20% of households in the Southeast, it makes sense to protect your home right from the start.

Our pre-construction termite treatments involve the application of termiticide to the ground where you will build your house. Like our post-construction treatments, this treatment includes a five-year renewable and transferable warranty.

Wood Infestation Reports

If you are buying a home, you’ll want to make sure that termites have not damaged it before signing the final papers. To do this, you need a licensed professional to conduct an inspection and fill out a Wood Destroying Insect Report. In some cases, your lender might require that you file one of these reports with them before your closing date.
